Greetings, friends! This comic is sure coming slowly, huh? I'm really sorry about that, for those of you who have cared. It's been my intention this summer to get working on it more often, but with work and other personal things (heh ^^) I've been finding it hard to work up the discipline. If only I could be one of those super-driven mangakas that pump out several pages a week! I'm still planning on buying a tablet though, so hopefully that will speed things up! Don't give up on me, please!

So I've been doing a bit of a commentary at the end of each chapter. As you may have noticed, the story of Kardia doesn't have much to do about God per se. However, it's my believe that you can draw spiritual application out of even the most ordinary things -- even things that weren't designed as such. Therefore, Kardia has been designed to be a normal story that you can draw spiritual application from. I only hope that whoever has been reading has been blessed by what has been written (and maybe even a few lost people have heard the gospel! How exciting! ^^).

This chapter I want to talk a bit about Tim. Tim is this guy, for those of you who have been confused by my inconsistent character drawings and many cast members:

Tim is a really good guy. As you can tell, he does what he can to encourage people when they're down and never complains about having a behind-the-scenes job that doesn't get the credit for the work. You might be able to relate to Tim a bit in that way if you've ever done cleanup at church (or anywhere else) been a sound person at church or anything like that, really. I think that Jesus has a special place in His heart for people like Tim.

Matthew 18:11-12
But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

I'm almost positive that we'll have our socks blown off when we get to heaven when we see who gets the most rewards from Jesus. I'm convinced that the people who are rewarded the most won't necessarily be the preachers or musicians that are soaking in all the glory, but it'll be the people who are humble servants behind the scenes. Now, I don't think that means that the up-front people will get nothing for their service to our Lord, since you can be a humble servant on stage who glorifies God. It's just that the servant jobs -- the cleanup, the setting-up of chairs, the hospital and prison visits and the like -- are very downplayed in the church, when they should be the most highly esteemed. Never look down on yourself for being a servant, but be eager to serve Jesus, because He is our good King after all. He became a servant to us all when He died on the cross for our sins. Even as we're talking He's making intercession for us! (Hebrews 7:25)

So, you ordinary person, Jesus died for you too! If you feel ignored, neglected or unimportant, you don't have a reason to feel that way anymore! The one Person whose opinion really matters thinks the world of you! God sent His Son, Jesus to die for your sins just so that He could be with you. The God of the universe wants to be with ordinary you! Never discredit yourself for being run-of-the-mill, cause God loves you. He just wants you to believe in Him and what His Son, Jesus, did so that you could be in heaven with Him forever! Now that's love...

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
